Management History

Management History

The story of KBI Schools' growth is also a story of evolving leadership. Since its establishment in 2012, the school's management structure has developed alongside its expansion from a nursery and primary school into a full Crèche-to-Senior-Secondary institution.

Throughout this journey, strategic oversight, academic development and day-to-day administration have continued to work together to support the school's mission of providing disciplined, practical and future-focused education.

The Evolution of KBI Leadership

2012

The School Is Established

KBI Schools was founded in 2012 in Moniya, Ibadan, under the guidance of its Board of Directors. From the beginning, the leadership of the school was centred on providing strong academic foundations alongside character and discipline.

Early Years

Foundational Administration

During the school's earlier years, Funke Okikiolu-Fadesere served as the school's administrative head. Her contribution formed part of the administrative foundation on which KBI's subsequent growth was built.

Board

Strategic & Academic Oversight

Revd George Okikiolu and Funke Okikiolu-Fadesere have been identified as members of the Board of Directors providing strategic direction and oversight as the school developed.

Expansion

From Nursery & Primary to Full School

As KBI expanded from its original nursery and primary base into a full Crèche-to-SSS3 institution, the management structure also evolved to support the increasing academic and operational demands of the school.

Academic Development

Strengthening Academic Innovation

Babatunde Awoyemi, a STEM Education specialist trained in Physics and Atmospheric Physics at the University of Ibadan, has served as the school's academic consultant. His work has supported the introduction of STEM, Coding & Robotics and the Prevocational Skills programme.

Today

A Distributed Management Structure

As KBI has grown, day-to-day administration has transitioned to resident school leadership, with dedicated administrative and academic personnel overseeing Nursery, Primary and Secondary operations, while the Board continues to provide strategic and academic oversight.

From Founder-Led Administration to Resident Leadership

As KBI Schools expanded, its management needs naturally became more complex. The school moved from its original nursery and primary foundation towards a complete Crèche-to-Senior-Secondary structure, requiring a stronger resident administrative and academic leadership team.

Day-to-day administration subsequently passed to resident school leadership responsible for coordinating the school's different sections, while the Board retained its strategic and academic oversight responsibilities.

This evolution has allowed KBI to maintain continuity in its values and direction while developing the operational capacity required to serve a growing school community.
